Key takeaways
- Orbem, the Munich-based biological intelligence company, has selected Atlar to connect its banks to NetSuite and manage cash across its accounts and term deposits.
- Orbem pairs MRI scanners with AI that reads each image in under a second. Poultry was its first proven market, and it closed a €55.5 million Series B in January.
- Atlar will connect directly to each of Orbem's banks and deliver statements into NetSuite every day through the Atlar SuiteApp, with operating balances and term deposits side by side in cash management.
- Orbem will be able to set AI agents to run on a schedule, such as a weekly check on deposits coming up for maturity, with every finding coming back for review.
Orbem, a Munich-based biological intelligence company that uses AI-powered MRI to read the inside of living systems, has selected Atlar to connect its banks to NetSuite and manage cash across its accounts and term deposits.
MRI, built for the production line
Orbem has made magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) fast enough for the factory floor. Its scanners are paired with AI that reads each image in under a second, so biological material can be examined at industrial scale without being opened up.
Poultry was the first big proven market. Orbem's Genus Focus system identifies the sex of a chick embryo inside the egg, giving hatcheries an alternative to culling male chicks, a practice Germany and several other European countries have banned. The same capability transfers to other domains: it already checks fruit for internal defects, and healthcare is on the longer-term roadmap.
The company spun out of the Technical University of Munich in 2019. In January, it closed a €55.5 million Series B led by Innovation Industries, and its first systems are now running in hatcheries in the US.
Bank data NetSuite can count on
Orbem moved its finance onto NetSuite earlier this year and runs it alongside three banks and a spend management platform, with term deposits held at several of those banks.
Atlar will connect to each bank directly and deliver statements into NetSuite every day through the Atlar SuiteApp. The spend platform will come into Atlar as well, and in cash management the team will see operating balances and term deposits side by side.
Orbem will also be able to put Atlar's AI agents to work on that data, setting them to run on a schedule and bring their findings back for review, such as a weekly look at which deposits are coming up for maturity. Each agent sees only what its role allows, and every run is logged.
What the team says
Niels Jäger at Orbem says:
“Our bank feed used to work for a while and then break, and every time we had to pay someone to reset it. What made the difference with Atlar is that they build and maintain the connections themselves, so if a bank changes something, it's on them, and the data keeps coming into NetSuite.”
GetYourGuide, Babbel, Parloa, and Isar Aerospace are among the German tech companies that have chosen Atlar. If you're working out how to connect your banks to NetSuite, book a demo or contact us.
